From the desk of Stephanie Haseman, Coordinator of Volunteers.
DAREarts is exceptionally pleased to announce that our Star Volunteer, Bob Ohashi, received an Ontario Volunteer Service Award at last night’s VSA ceremony, presented by the Ontario Honours & Awards Secretariat of the Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration! Both DAREarts Founder & President Marilyn Field and Board of Directors Vice-Chair J.C. Pennie were in attendance to celebrate Bob’s recognition with him.
Bob has been dedicating his time to DAREarts for well over a decade, performing a variety of volunteer roles from helping out around the DAREarts office, to aiding in critical events, including Promenade and the Leadership Awards. Bob and his wife Margaret have attended all 12 of the annual DAREarts Leadership Awards!
Bob was first introduced to DAREarts in the mid-1990s through his late son, Paul, who was a music student. Bob’s interest in carrying on his son’s interest in serving the needs of underprivileged children led to a strong association with DAREarts Founder, Marilyn Field, in sharing common aspirations. She says of Bob, “We admire his dedication and tireless efforts, no matter what the task. Bob and his wife, Margaret, have become an integral part of the DAREarts family, known and appreciated by everyone.”
It has always been a delight to work with Bob, and his dedication to DAREarts and the children is nothing short of amazing. A very BIG thank you to Bob from all of us at DAREarts – you are truly deserving of the recognition you have received!
